Gutters, Fascias & Soffits

The eaves are where the roof hands its water over to the gutters. When a gutter is blocked, sagging or leaking at a joint, the water runs down the wall instead, and over time that means damp patches, stained brickwork and rotten fascia boards.

What this work covers

Gutters and downpipes

Clearing blocked gutters, resealing or replacing leaking joints, re-hanging sagging runs so they fall to the outlet, and replacing broken sections.

Fascias and soffits

Replacing rotten timber fascias and soffits, or the whole eaves line, including the vents that keep air moving through the roof space.

The bottom edge of the roof

The felt or eaves carrier that should drip into the gutter. If it has perished, water runs behind the gutter and into the fascia.

Before we start

• We check for nesting birds under the eaves. It is an offence to damage or destroy the nest of a wild bird while it is in use or being built, so eaves work may have to wait.
• We check whether the leak is the gutter itself or the roof edge above it, so you are not paying to replace a gutter that was never the problem.
